Microsoft is right back at with some bad press and practices. Now this is literally news I just heard about and was very shocked to find out. Now many gamers know about all the controversy and bad marketing that has plagued the Xbox One since it was first announced. From DRM, to Kinect always watching, are just two examples of what the console was originally going to be until Microsoft did a complete 180 on it. Now I've been skeptical of them ever since they even tried such a thing, worried they would just put it all back in or try something like it again. But there is different news floating around today and I feel like I should get my opinion out there.
Microsoft and Machinima have struck a deal to wear they'll support the Xbox One in many videos from their network providers and partners. Now this doesn't really seem that bad, standard business practice right there. What pisses me off is that in that agreement, that was sent to all partners, they would be paid 3 extra dollars per thousand views and they could ""not say anything negative or disparaging about Machinima, Xbox One, or any of its games." It's that part right there that I have a major problem with and unfortunately I know Microsoft is not the only one to try things like this. It's false advertising at that point and it makes you second guess who's truly being honest about what they say. People's greed know no bounds.
It's also a terrible business move for Microsoft as no one will trust the good things that are said about the console and it could potentially harm them in the future. I personally am a little apprehensive about the console with news that has hit my ears. What's really bad is this kind of advertising will or probably is starting to be a norm, just like all these stupid microtransaction practices and other shady business that has entered the gaming scene to cash in on all the money they can get. There have been some bad things that have come up with gaming in the recent years and to be honest, I'm starting to get a little sick of it. Come on guys, shape up! Gaming used to mean something to me, but it's just been bad business practice after bad business practice. Even Youtube has seen some trouble with it's new copyright system that has plagued many reviewers and let's players. I know there are still several good companies still around and I will continue to support them when I can.... Hope to have some better news for you guys next time. Any questions just leave them in the comment section below. Later guys!
