Graphics
Sorry, Deadpool, but you aren't going to really impress any one with these graphics. (What are you talking about they are amazing) They feel more generic to me DP and something that came out a couple of years ago. I'm not saying that the graphics are bad, they just won't be winning any awards or recognition. (How about a reward for being awesome) I'll give you that reward DP just to make you feel better. (Woohoo I feel good about this!)
Gameplay
This game is actually pretty fun to play, but from a technical standpoint the game is still very generic in this point (Generic my a...) Hey keep it PG Deadpool! (You can't tell me what to do!) Do you want the chimichanga or not! (Alright fine but I don't like it!) It's my review! But Thank you, now where was I? Oh yeah, the game is a third person hack and slash with some shooter elements thrown in. The melee with the swords and such are good, but the shooting element could have had a little more work done to it. Things were just a little rough around the edges. (That's how I roll) Another element to mention is that you build up momentum as you land combos on the enemies. You use this momentum to use Deapool's special and powerful moves. (Which are the best moves you've ever seen) Sure let's go with that Deadpool, but the gameplay still feels kind of generic, especially with the upgrading system by collecting DP Points. (But you get to make me more awesome!) You are already awesome Deadpool, but I still have to look at this from a gaming stand point. (Fine, but you still owe me those chimichangas and some tacos!) When we're done with this Deadpool I will. (Wooooo)
Story
This is the section that the game seems to excel at. (Woo we did something good by this guy....who is he?) Ignoring that, the basic plot is that Deadpool wants to star in a video game. He's give the script, writes all over it, and then throws it away to go complete a contract. Mr. Sinister comes in and kills his contract and now Deadpool is out for blood. (No one kills my contract! And I mean no one!) That is the basic plot line, but this is all with the Deadpool charm. What this means is that the game is just freaking hilarious at every turn. This is the one thing that High Moon Studios did perfectly. (Oh yeah, everybody loves Deadpool!) Your game is still rated M Deadpool so I hope little kids aren't really playing this game as it can be a bit graphic. (That's just who we are man!) The story still only took me about 6 hours to complete though, so it is on the short side and there isn't much to do after that. (What about my awesome challenge maps?!) It's all the same challenge on a different map, kill this many people in this amount of time. (What about my awesome outfits?!) Each outfit is tied to one specific challenge map and you can only use them in survival mode which you unlock after getting gold in each challenge map. (High Moon you said this was supposed to be awesome, what am I paying you for! Oh yeah I'm not paying you....Awkward)
Final Verdict
6 out of 10
A little above average
This game is a fun ride, but I feel High Moon played it very safe when it came to this game and relied a little to much on the Deadpool charm to sell the game. I'm not saying this is a bad game, it's just a very generic game if it didn't have Deadpool tied to it. I say if you get a chance to play it, you should give the game a shot because it is a fun ride. they got the Deadpool charm and personality and everything about Deadpool down perfectly and that's reason enough to at least try it for yourself. Until the next time guys. Later! (Man that was rough, now where's the chimichangas and the tacos?!) Sigh.....
Got it memorized?
