Hey there guys! Look a post from me without the main thing being about video game music. (That will come later) Well it's about that time I should talk about the game that is most talked about right now. Yup, you guessed it! Hot Wheels: Worlds Best Drivers! I'm just kidding of course I'm gonna give my word about Grand Theft Auto V! Now I did consider doing a review on this game, but that's actually pretty hard to do for me at this point because there is so much content in this game to talk about and delve into. Instead what I've decided to do is to just give my thoughts about several aspects and why you should either pick up this game, or just wait for a price drop or something. I know it's different but we're doing it this way!
So where should I begin... well let's go with just how the game looks. It looks amazing, I mean Rockstar really pushed the current gen systems to the limit. Los Santos has so much detail in it, from trash cans to puddles to dirt being spit up from the vehicle. It is just a beautiful thing to look at. Granted the look of a car after you T-bone a car in an intersection is not realistic. I mean it was really hard for me to completely total a car....actually I never did total a car. One funny thing that also happened was a just lightly tapped the corner of my car against a sign and my rear windshield broke..... ok.... All in all you won't be disappointed in the detail that is in this game at all.
Let's move on to the story. That sound good to you? Oh wait you can't talk back while I'm writing this......awkward..... Anyway, It is a little hard for me to talk about the story with out spoiling but I will do my best. The game starts right out with 3 guys robbing a bank and the heist does not go well. Two of the guys end up getting shot while we just see the third one being chased away. Fast forward 10 years and we are introduced to Franklin, a man living in the hood just trying to make a better living. He works as a repo guy (taking cars back from people who haven't made the payments) for a shady business man. He ends up "repossessing" a car from an angry father named Michael. Ironically this guy was a bank robber back in the day and Franklin ends up working for him after Michael gets him fired. Meanwhile, a guy named Trevor is running an "international" business from the desert of San Andreas. (Did I mention Trevor is a crazy homicidal maniac?) Without spoiling anything, they all end up working together to pull jobs and make money and gain freedom. The story is really good but hard to explain without spoiling. I really thought it was a good story.
Well I guess the last thing to talk about would be the gameplay huh? The gameplay just feels so smooth in this game to me. The driving just felt natural, walking and running felt natural, flying actually had a lot of turbulence and hard to control as I would imagine flying a real plane or helicopter. Shooting and fight was all done insanely well, it all felt smooth and easy to pick up. The game was actually pretty hard at many points, but it wasn't because of fighting the controls or anything. You had to move from cover to cover in a gun fight and constantly poke in and out of cover to not die. It felt pretty realistic. The cops were hard to get away from at many points. In the entire time I played the game up to this point... I've only found 1 glitch.... which is just amazing to me cause I'm pretty good at finding random glitches.
I should mention there is so much to do in this game, the story itself took me a good 20-30 hours with a lot of messing around doing all the other side stuff in between, and I'm still not even close to done with all the collectibles and all the activities in the game. It's waaaaaay worth the 60 dollar price tag without a doubt. If you're even considering picking up this game, go ahead and do it. You will not be disappointed whatsoever. I will warn you though, this game earns being rated M. This is not a game for the weak, its gruesome, it's racy, you torture a guy, it's insane. I will leave you with that little warning, don't take it lightly. I still encourage you to pick up the game (as long as you are 17 or older and can handle it) Hope you guys enjoyed my thoughts on the game, leave what you think about it in the comments. I'll see you guys next time.
