To be honest, I actually have my concerns about this game after playing Assassin's Creed III. Now many of you may not know this but I was not really a fan of this game. One of my many problems was the main character Connor, I just did not like him compared to the charismatic Ezio and the intriguing Altair. Connor was just flat, brash, childish, all together he wasn't a well rounded character. That's only one of my problems. Another problem I had with AC III was the story kind of fell apart towards the end, in my opinion. Then again every game in the series ends on some kind of cliffhanger, but this one was just....no...just no... terrible ending... and that's always the part that sticks to me the most. The gameplay was also very linear and wasn't really that fun. The combat system was made a lot simpler and the game kind of hurt from that, the combat became to easy like in Assassin's Creed 2. All in all I'm still sorely disappointed in Assassin's Creed 3.
But that's not what I should be talking about here is it. Well one thing that Assassin's Creed set up well was the naval battles and that seems to be the new thing with Assassin's Creed IV. Most of the game is about the naval battles. What my concern is is that taking down a ship or just traveling will become boring and monotonous as it did in Assassin's Creed 3. I feel like it would just become more of the same really fast. I hate to do this but the series is starting to feel almost Call of Duty in he sense of releasing a new game every year with minor tweaks and fixes but still basically the same game. Now Assassin's Creed hasn't sunk to Call of Duty level lazy developing but I would personally like to see maybe a years gap in between each of the games just to listen to the voices of the gamers and really try to fix the problems of the last game while maybe adding something new. That's just my personal opinion.
Ubisoft has done a very good job promoting this game though I will give them that, but that doesn't really help ease my concerns about the game itself, I don't want it to be another cash grab series that just ruins the game (cough cough Call of Duty cough cough). I am hoping for the better as I am slightly excited for the game but still have that weary eye on it....(I'm watching you Ubisoft)...
So guys if you have any questions or any conerns you think I missed or you have some different opinions let me know in the comments (just don't start any wars or anything, please be respectful) Until then guys, I'll catch you next time!
Got it memorized?
