Now I hope you realized by now I'm not one of the stereotypical, insanely competitive gamers. I mean sure I like to play some competitive games sometimes and I can get really into the competitive feel. Those games were designed to make you feel that. No, I'm one of those few gamers that really appreciate the work that people but into making these amazing worlds, these incredible stories, these unforgettable experiences. Games are a piece of art, and escape from reality. They are my way to unwind after a long day, or even just get some frustration out, or to just relax and forget the harsh reality of the world. The worlds you can visit are limitless, the environment can just engulf you, the music will make you feel the emotions of everything around you. There is so much work that goes into these games, but many people just look them over as "That was cool...onto the next one now." You can't just rush past anything, you have to take your time with them (unless it's a terrible game) There are several companies and games out there that just re use the same thing over and over again and it appeals to several people but it's just not for me. I love seeing companies come out with something innovating or captivating. Sure sometimes the repetition can be good, but it can get boring really fast and it just won't have the same effect as it did the first time.
As I'm writing this, I'm listening to the soundtrack of Flower... and it still amazes me what amazing music has been made for video games and how much of an impact it can really have. The memories you can even just associate with this music, the feelings and experiences you can relate to in games. Everyone sees each game differently, everyone has different views. Many disagree with one another, many fight about which is better and which is worse, but every person is different. No two people will have the same feelings towards one game on the level of the other. They can be very similar, but never exactly the same experience. I understand I have been jumping around all over in this post, but I hope the main point really came across to all of you. We all just enjoy different things, have different ways to relax, view the world, escape reality, live. Gaming for me... it's just another part of my life, my way of coping with the world, my escape, my way of making memories. I've made some amazing memories with gaming, made some pretty good friends from it, been on some amazing adventures, experienced amazing tales and feelings. I hope you guys had or will have some amazing journeys, and not just in gaming. Go on and tell me some of your experiences in gaming, or just share your thoughts on this discussion. See you guys next time! :D
