Well, I'm kind of in a lull about what to right about with gaming (mostly because I haven't had much time or money to play some of the newest stuff out there) so I'm just gonna talk about one of my favorite indie games. Well your first thought might be Flower from one of my previous posts and that is up pretty high on my list of favorite indie games (could be the best but it's not what this post will be about). No, the game that I want to talk about this time around is a little game called Minecraft. Now, I'm sure many of you have heard of such a game, and for those of you that haven't....well I feel kind of sorry for you as you have missed out on something that is really amazing..... at least to me it is. I have met plenty of people that think very differently. The game that I would be talking about is a little thing called Minecraft.
But just what is the appeal of a game that has such pixelated graphics, no story, and having no direction being force fed into my mouth? My answer to that is that's the great appeal of the game! You can literally do whatever you want to. If you want to just spend your time building a small house or a farm or something, you can do that. If you want to mine into the earth to collect materials to get better equipment and just fight some monsters and other creatures, you can do that. If you want to build a giant castle that towers to the top of the planet, guess what? You can do that! You get to create your own adventures, your own personal stories in your own personal world or even go be a part of your friends story. There really aren't any limits to what you can do besides what you can imagine (and standard game limitations but that's not really important).
This is one of those games I go to when I just want to relax after a long day or I'm just in a crappy mood (or when I feel alone and would just rather be alone in a giant world where I can do what I want at least....happens more often than it should). Have I mentioned how relaxing the soundtrack is in this game yet? No...well I should slap myself for that one because the music is pretty amazing. So much so that I can't really describe it except with one word...relaxing. I'll throw down a link for you guys to have a listen to! Actually there really isn't much else I can think of to talk about this game right now. As always if you have anything to say or want to ask a question or anything just leave something in the comment section below! I'll see you guys next time. Until then...
