Hello ghosts and ghouls of every age, and welcome to the Halloween special on the 5 Nerds 1 Blog site. Today is a very special day. Today is the day that kids dress up to go trick or treating and teenagers have Halloween parties to go to. But it wasn't just today I was excited for it was the entire month. Why the entire month, you ask? Well because on the 1st of October it means the Halloween cartoons and movies start up. Yes even the Horror films like Halloween with Michael Myers, Friday the Thirteenth movies, Nightmare on Elm Street movies, and many other old and new Horror movies. I watch them all. I know what the title says and the picture shows just Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas but I'm not just gonna talk about that movie(even though it is my most favorite movie of all time with my most favorite director of all time, and I used the title because Halloween is a nightmare before Christmas). No you are here to read about all of the best Halloween movies, specials and cartoons. So come, join me in this Halloween madness.
Ah the Adams Family, Halloween in its purest form. No family is as crazy or as fun as them. But if you want a Halloween done right you should ask Wednesday. This family has been the best Halloween movies for kids for years now. Why? Well because it's more about a strange family than just you know murderers, and sick twisted people. Although I'm not so sure about Wednesday. Both of their movies are filled with amazing actors too. Raul Julia made the best Gomez Adams I have seen, along with Anjelica Huston as Morticia, or Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Fester. I definitely want to see them make another movie but you would have to use a whole new cast because everyone is old from that cast and Raul is dead sadly. And how can you one up this cast? You can't, so I have concluded that as much as i want to see a remake it would never be as good as this depiction of the Adams Family. Although I did hear that the cast for the Adams Family plays are pretty good.
It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. I probably should've put Charlie Brown first, but I loved the Adams Family more and I just couldn't deny them. But back to Charlie Brown, Charlie Brown is like any other old famous cartoon. He and the gang are known around the world. However I don't know who is more famous in the show. It could be Charlie Brown himself, or Snoopy and Woodstock, or its the adults that spoke a different language altogether. Either way this Halloween special was amazing(just as all Charlie Brown specials are), they even teach you how to trick-or-treat in the special. If they just ran re-runs on a channel I have with Comcast I would watch it every chance I get. I just cant wait for Thanksgiving.
Now technically me doing this show is just not fair. Because Courage's entire life is a Halloween episode. But either way he must be mentioned he is one of the best. He first appeared on Cartoon Network in 1999 and had a new episode up til 2002. But Cartoon Network has brought him back lately on Cartoon Planet which makes me really happy.
And last but not least, the King of Halloween, the master of monsters, the ruler of all things scary Tim Burton. I know what you are thinking he is not a special, cartoon, or movie and you would be right. But he is better than all of those. He is the creator, writer, and director of many of them. He has worked with many good actors, and gave them a real name in family movies. The best part about his work is that most of his work no matter how horrifying it can be, is that they are all for the family. He has worked with the greats like Michael Keaton(First MovieBatman/Beetlejuice), Johnny Depp(if you don't know this then you live in a cave), Helena Bonham Carter(Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter), Albert Finney(in Skyfall/The Bourne Ultimatum/Big Fish), Christopher Lee(Lord Saruman/Count Dooku), Michael Gough(first movie Alfred for the first 4 Batman movies), Winona Ryder(in a bunch of his movies), and Danny Elfman(composer and actor). He even directed Pee-Wee Herman's Big Adventure. He directed the first Batman and produced Batman Returns and Batman Forever. And he recently came out with another movie called Frankenweenie. If I was a psychologist I would love to poke at Tim Burton's mind. there is no telling what he has coming up next.
I know that there are many more that I haven't mentioned, but if I did then my hands would start to hurt. Plus I gotta leave some for next Halloween. I probably could've written more for each show in this post, but maybe I will save that for later. So for now this is a fair well and you can guarantee that i will be back next year on Halloween spreading the horror. I will also be back in the next week or so, so yeah you can look forward to that too. But hey before I go tell me what your favorite Halloween special is, what are you for Halloween, and tell me what you did for Halloween this year doesn't hurt to share how you have scarred children's lives this year. and in the Halloween spirit I shall leave you this.
Happy Halloween,
